Tikka T1x

T1x fit
A T1x can shoot Light Rifle or Any Rifle in prone with a scope or sights, but purpose-built target rifles (aperture sights, palm rests) dominate position events. It's a good way to learn.

CZ 457

457 fit
Same as the T1x: legal and fine for learning prone, but specialized target rifles dominate. CZ's own 457 Match/Target variants are aimed at this kind of shooting.

What it is

Traditional position rifle shooting (prone, standing and kneeling) with .22 rimfire at 50 ft to 100 yd, from club leagues up to National Championships.

Rules, divisions & equipment limits

Rifle classes include Any Rifle (no barrel or weight limits; any safe trigger) and Light Rifle (≤ 8.5 lb with sights, trigger ≥ 2 lb). In prone, the forearm angle must be at least 30° and there is no artificial support. Shooting mats are permitted at the Championships.

Scoring

Score on bullseye targets (e.g. A23-6 at 50 yd for 3P).

How to join
