How to get a useful answer from a forum

Most unanswered rimfire questions are missing details. Before you post a problem with your T1x, include:

Most unanswered rimfire questions are missing details. Before you post a problem with your 457, include:
- Exact variant, caliber and hand (e.g. right-hand .22 LR, 16 in or 20 in barrel), and whether the barreled action is in the factory stock or an aftermarket chassis.
- What changed recently: a new trigger, chassis, rail, ammo lot or cleaning routine. Most accuracy and feeding complaints follow a change.
- Ammo brand, product and lot, and the distance. Rimfire accuracy varies a lot by ammo, so a group means little without it.
- Action-screw torque and whether it's the maker's value (see gunsmithing).
- Photos of the issue (a failed extraction, the ring marks, a target with a scale), with serial numbers cropped out.
- What you already tried, so people don't repeat the basics.
Check our known issues and FAQ first; many common problems have sourced fixes there. Never take anyone's advice, including ours, over the maker's manual on safety: trigger weights, headspace and torque specs come from the manual or the part maker.
